Religious Education for Grades One through Confirmation

St. Emily and St. Thomas Becket parishes collaborate to offer a comprehensive Religious Education program which  focuses on helping students and their families draw near to the Lord, following him more closely.

To enable this process, we explore what we believe and why, how to read the Scriptures, how to pray in the tradition of the church and how to serve our sisters and brothers in the world. You can find out more about our curriculum and goals here.

Our program meets on Wednesday evenings from September through early May at 6:15 PM.  You can find the current calendar here.

We also provide a home schooling option for grades one through eight.  For more information on this option, go here.

Each and every child  should be offered formation in our faith. We will work to ensure that students with special needs are accommodated in our regular program or in a specialized setting.

Registration

Open enrollment begins each  year in the spring.  Students might be admitted after October 15 if there is room and at the discretion of the Coordinator.  Please contact David Mika for information.

If your child has been baptized, we ask that you bring us a copy of his/her certificate.  If the child is transferring from another program or Catholic school, a report card or transfer letter verifying attendance is also required.

Please note that it  is the policy in the Archdiocese of Chicago that preparation for any of the sacraments takes place over two years.  We have programs to prepare students at all levels for the sacraments.

Tuition rates can be found here.   Genuine financial need is no barrier to attendance.  Please contact   David Mika   with any questions.
