You might ask how we plan to proceed in the Fall. As you have experienced with your school district, there are also open questions for our own return. We are planning for different scenarios and we can offer you some options:
Of course, none of these options are ideal, but we all have learned the virtue of flexibility these last few months.
- Meeting in the school building classrooms. If this is possible, it will take place with modifications in order ensure infection precautions.
- Students would enter and leave by the rear fire doors in every classroom. (This might mean that you get your steps in delivering and collecting your children from different classrooms.)
- Students must come with their own materials and supplies. There can be no borrowing or a common supply. You can find the supply list below.
- Students will be asked to wear masks throughout the class - and from the time they leave the car at drop off until they return to your car at pickup.
- Classes would be more 'static' with less movement of the students so that we can ensure social distance.
- Meeting online. This is how we would begin the year if we can not meet in the classrooms. We will use a variety of digital tools which will be familiar to you from your child's experience in the spring.
- A blended on site / online model. This would be the case if we began in one format - and had to switch because of infection rates. We are working to have a common lesson format across the grade levels so that there will be a routine that students and families can count on, no matter the format.
- The Homeschool option. This is now available to all grade levels. It does require a commitment of time on the part of an adult. If you wish to switch to this option, please let me know.
